ešte pridám niekoľko ohlasov po tejto sérii :
"The difference in the series was our power play," Hitchcock said. "We earned the penalties based on our work, then I thought the way we went about business on the power play was excellent. They pressured us, we moved it quickly when we had time, we showed great patience and we want to shoot the puck."
"We have a buy-in going right now," Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We've had a buy-in going since the day the coach arrived. I have no idea why, to be honest with you, but the buy-in is right there. You can see the way we compete.... We'll be a tough opponent if the buy-in continues at this pace. Win or lose, we'll be a tough opponent."
"The way we have to play as a team makes you rely on each other," Hitchcock said. "We can't do it by ourselves; we can't rely on one guy. Our top scorer (Backes) is our top checker, so it's a different element here. That's why when I say the buy-in is there, the buy-in is because everybody … not out of fear but out of having to trust each other so much … we play the right way. And everybody is on that page and almost afraid to get off. ... That relying on each other kept the stress and the pressure away.
"There was no difference in our locker room today as there was for Game 4. There was looseness. Some of the kidding that goes on, you and I would go to jail over. Comments that are made, we'd be written up on CNN or whatever. And they love it and they go after each other in a fun way. But they really need each other and they really rely on each other. It's a very unique team in that there are no superstars; there's just a bunch of guys that grew up together that are having fun together and really count on each other."
San Jose coach Todd McLellan called the Blues stifling. "They play such a good checking game; they give you absolutely nothing," he said. "When you have only four forwards that hit the score sheet in a five-game series, odds are you're not winning."
"I mean, you see a difference-maker, and we're going to concede (Elliott) that," Sharks forward Joe Pavelski said. "He's a great goalie."
McDonald "has got a huge heart and he puts everything on the line, and what a great series for him," Backes said. "He's showed he can play in the playoffs and have an effect."
"That first game to lose it and say, 'Ohhhh, everything we accomplished all year and all this talk about Presidents' trophies and Jennings trophies, that means nothing,'" Blues captain David Backes said. "We had to have a reality check and say we need to play our best hockey every night, or this team can beat us. ... We had a lot of great performances that added up to a series win."
"It's exciting," Langenbrunner said. "It's good to see, but this team isn't focused on making the playoffs or winning the first round. We're excited to win that first round, we're excited about every goal we've accomplished so far, but we've got a few more left."
